MSP® Practitioner Workshop

 

Audience

This 2 day class is for anyone who has a significant role within a programme environment and who wishes to gain a formal qualification, including :

What is MSP?

MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) is a framework for managing change and delivering organizational benefits from a set of related projects. It is regarded as best practice in the UK and is used by government departments, local authorities, charities and commercial organizations to coordinate and direct projects of all kinds, regardless of scope, timescale or budget.

Prerequisites

Delegates should have passed the MSP Foundation examination within the last 12 months, or already have passed the Practitioner exam and taking the Re-registration exam.

Objectives

The course will enable delegates to :

  • Apply the main MSP Principles, Governance Themes and Transformational Flow to a realistic programme case study
  • Understand the requirements of the MSP Practitioner examination
  • Apply the techniques required by the MSP Practitioner examination
  • Prepare for and take the MSP Practitioner examination

Duration

2 days

Examinations

The course is intensive and delegates are advised to undertake some revision work in the evening to prepare for the examinations. The course fee includes all examination fees, and for Re-registration delegates includes a copy of the latest edition of the official MSP guide.

Course Content

A realistic case study scenario is used extensively throughout the course to allow delegates to consolidate their knowledge of MSP through hands-on, syndicate work.  

Extensive use is also made of past papers to prepare delegates for the exam.

MSP Practitioner Certificate Examination (2½ hours)

  • Objective testing
  • 8 questions - 80 marks available, 40 marks or more to pass
  • Open-book (only the MSP Guide is allowed)
